January Inductions

The induction course is 6 sessions long during which you will learn the base CrossFit techniques, get a great workout, have some fun and make some new friends!

CFH Paleo Challenge

Christmas is all over and the New Year is imminent. I think that most of us have over-indulged and possibly put on a pound or two.

Well, there's no hiding from it, time to do something about it.

From the 2nd Jan we are kicking off the paleo challenge. This basically involves cleaning up your eating and kicking alcohol into touch for January. We have put up a 'Goals' board in the box so get your goal written up now.

There is also a support network in place with the CFH Paleo challenge 2014 Facebook Group where members share info, recipes, eand encouragement Plus the use of the fat measurement calipers to get your start point plotted.

Christmas Party Menu - 20th December

This is the menu for the Christmas party on 20th December at Rudding Park, please either complete the order form at the desk or message Gio (gio@crossfitharrogate.com) with your order by Friday 13th December.  If you have any other specific dietary requirements please do let us know. December Monthly Challenge

This month's challenge involves the sandbags!  Each person will choose the weight of sandbag that they are comfortable with and then with perfect technique, they will clean the bag from the ground to their shoulder.  On each rep, you will change shoulders so you are not uneven afterwards.  The challenge is to see how many times you can clean the sandbag from the ground to your shoulder in one minute.  Your score is the total amount of weight accumulated in the minute (weight x number of reps = score).  Best of luck to everyone! 

First Annual Lion's Pride Challenge

Ok, CrossFit Harrogate!  You have all shown a massive competitive spirit recently and so we thought it was time we had a little challenge for box bragging rights! On 19 January 2014, we will hold the first annual CrossFit Harrogate Lion’s Pride Challenge.  This competition will be open to members only and will give the winning team bragging rights for the year.  But before you get too far into planning your teams, we want to make sure things are fair, so keep reading to see how it will work. All interested members will sign up by 15 December.  Once we have the list of competitors, the coaches will get together and pick the teams.  Teams will consist of two men and two ladies and will be put together so as to give each team a fighting chance.  Workouts and team selections will be released the week prior to the event and all movements will have a scalable option so that anyone can participate.  The competition will be followed by a get together that may or may not have beer involved (gluten free, of course!).  The cost to enter the competition will be £10 and will entitle you a Lion’s Pride Challenge t-shirt.  Please sign up at the box if you are interested!


Free Taster Session - Saturday, 26 October

Interested in trying CrossFit but not sure what it's all about? Then come and give it a try! We will take you through a typically structured session, talk through what CrossFit is all about and answer any questions you may have.  All for free with no sales pitch at the end.
